2023 SA Hillclimb Championship

Congratulations to Evan Gobell, Josh Axford, Neil Oatway and Serge de Luca for competing in the Championship at Collingrove last weekend. With both Neil and Serge pushing 80 plus years old it was a great effort from them to compete Josh was .02 of a second of the Historic Touring Car record (which he holds by the way)

Phillip Island 2023. South Aust Drivers Rule

Congratulations to our SA Drivers in taking the first 3 Outright Places in the Under 2 Litre Competition at the Phillip Island Historics. New Life Member

At our AGM last Monday night we admitted a new member to our Life Membership group. This person joined us in 2002, has been on the Committee since 2003 (still serving) and the longest serving President for 7 years 2004-2010 They won the Sporting Car Clubs Historic Touring Cars Over 3 Litre State Championship in 2011, our SA Historic Touring Car Cup in 2009, 2014, 2015 and won Driver of the Year 2015. THR Developments Touring Car Challenge July 2022

Well what a great weekend was had at The Bend. With 33 cars from all around Australia a great show was put on by all the competitors. Just keeping you up to date with whats been happening with Historic Touring Cars in SA lately. The first hit out for our cars was on Feb 19th at the Sporting Car Clubs Twilight meeting with  5 members competing on the day and getting things sorted for season 22. SCC Round 3 Mallala and Changes in DOTY

Well due to COVID interuptions Round 3 was run after Round 4 this year. We had 2 competitors entered but 1 Mini had a fuel pump failure on the 1st race and so Richard Harris in his Mini was the only Historic Touring Car running for the weekend. Cruise to The Barossa Sept 12th

What started of as great weather soon turned to shit but 10 cars and 20 members still met at OTR Pt Wakefield for our cruise. Heading up to Seppeltsfield first for morning tea and a tour of the facilities. Then to Menglers Hill Lookout and then on to The Stockwell Pub which has just been refurbished. Great food and mateship for the day.

Mallala Anzac Historics 2021

What a great weekend of racing. 17 cars qualified for the weekend and the battle for 1st went down to the wire between Kym Burtons Falcon, Josh Axfords BDA Escort and Adam Smiths Falcon with Kym and Maria Burton coming out victorious on the weekend. Historic Touring Car Cup cancelled for 2020

Unfortunately the 35 Car extravaganza we were due to put on this year for our Cup meeting at The Bend in October has been cancelled due to border restrictions still. Without the support of Vic, NSW, WA and Qld the Cup meeting was not viable. Under 2 Litre Historic Touring Car Hillclimb Record tumbles

Congratulations to Josh Axford in his immaculate MK1 BDA Escort in lowering the track record at Collingrove for Under 2 Litre Historic Touring Cars by over a second at the SA Championship on the weekend. Mallala SCC State Series August 2020

What a great turnout and a very interesting car on stage. 29 members and 3 guests made for a great atmosphere. Historic Touring Cars coming back to The Bend Supersprint August 2019

After a successfull hit out at The Bend in October 2018 Historic Touring Cars return as one of the Support Categories with Supercars at The Bend Supersprint August 23 -25th for 2019. Come along and see 45 Historic Touring Cars from the 60s and 70s battle it out for outright honors on the International Circuit. There will be Mustangs, Minis, Camaros, Falcon GTs, Cortinas, EH Holdens, XU1Toranas, Porsche, HQ Holdens and more.

LAP RECORD HOLDERS at THE BEND

Congratulations to the following members who after having a run at the Bend over the weekend are now LAP RECORD HOLDERS on the 4.95k International Circuit. NCB Rob Smith with a 2.24.30 Class NCC Rory ONeill on the 4.95k International Circuit. Class NCE Josh Axford with a 2.16.82 No doubt these records will stand for a while on that circuit as it’s not the preferred circuit for our category.   Well done guys.

Changes to race meeting at The Bend in June.

Today it was brought to our attention that the June race meeting on 9th and 10th of June at Tailem Bend has been reduced to a one day meeting and no guarantee of a practice day. We understand some local competitors will still choose to run on Sat 9th still as a One day event. We apologise for this change. Large Contingent of Historic Touring Cars coming over from Victoria and NSW for the Tailem Bend Rounds

Have a look at the Sporting Car Club Racing Series this year and note the two dates at the Bend. If your an entrant get your entries in real quick when they come out on Meecams because the Vics and New South Welshman are coming over. If your a spectator then lock in the dates and come on down to the greatest new race track in Australia.

June SCC Round 2 at Mallala

At our last committee meeting based on expected numbers racing, it was decided to postpone the THR Cup until later in the year.   So the 2nd round of the SCC series on June 10th and 11th is now just a points round for Driver of the year still.   We will run our THR Cup and $150.00 driver rebate at the November round.   So get out there in June and gets some points and and don’t forget the special meeting away  at Richmonds in [...]

Christmas on the Farm for Members
