Well due to COVID interuptions Round 3 was run after Round 4 this year. We had 2 competitors entered but 1 Mini had a fuel pump failure on the 1st race and so Richard Harris in his Mini was the only Historic Touring Car running for the weekend. What started of as great weather soon turned to shit but 10 cars and 20 members still met at OTR Pt Wakefield for our cruise. Heading up to Seppeltsfield first for morning tea and a tour of the facilities. Then to Menglers Hill Lookout and then on to The Stockwell Pub which has just been refurbished. Great food and mateship for the day.
Whilst we had 5 cars there last year only Neil was there this year in his trusty XW GT Falcon.
What a great weekend of racing. 17 cars qualified for the weekend and the battle for 1st went down to the wire between Kym Burtons Falcon, Josh Axfords BDA Escort and Adam Smiths Falcon with Kym and Maria Burton coming out victorious on the weekend. Well our 23rd year starts and with 22 members along a cool Mustang on stage and a great night was had. The committee was voted in with Stuart Barnes retaining President and two new committee members joining to add some fresh ideas. Welcome to Hamish Rhodes and Evan Gobell. Due to the club hosting a Cruise and lunch day on Sunday the 8th of November our Monday Night 9th of November meeting at The Sporting Club rooms is cancelled. See everyone at the Cruise or our Driver of the Year awards on Sunday December the 6th.
Unfortunately the 35 Car extravaganza we were due to put on this year for our Cup meeting at The Bend in October has been cancelled due to border restrictions still. Without the support of Vic, NSW, WA and Qld the Cup meeting was not viable. Congratulations to Josh Axford in his immaculate MK1 BDA Escort in lowering the track record at Collingrove for Under 2 Litre Historic Touring Cars by over a second at the SA Championship on the weekend. Many thanks also to Evan Gobell EH Holden, Neil Oatway Falcon GT, Dave Angel MK2 Cortina and Paul Atkins MK1 Cortina for making it the biggest turnout of Historic Touring Cars at Collingrove for 20 years.

As you know 2020 has been an unusual year for Motorsport but Round 3 of the Sporting Car Club series is on this weekend at Mallala so come on out (free entry) and support your category. Just letting you know that our May 4th General meeting is canceled due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Hope to see everyone at the first Monday in August meeting. By the way these strange times create strange people!!!!! One of our members putting out his rubbish.
Well unfortunately due to the Covid-19 outbreak at the moment the Anzac All Historic meeting has been postponed along with many other scheduled race meetings around Australia so save some money stay home stay safe and we will see you all on the track some time later in the year when we get the all clear to go racing again.

What a great turnout and a very interesting car on stage. 29 members and 3 guests made for a great atmosphere. Rod and Cheryl Crawford bought there 1915 Model T race car called Yellow Peril in and wow it was bloody fantastic. A great car and a great story on how they acquired it. Thanks To Nissan Navara and ULX110 Oils for there support the weekend was a cracker. 28 starters with V8s, V6, Straight 6, 4Cyl it was all there. After a successfull hit out at The Bend in October 2018 Historic Touring Cars return as one of the Support Categories with Supercars at The Bend Supersprint August 23 -25th for 2019. Come along and see 45 Historic Touring Cars from the 60s and 70s battle it out for outright honors on the International Circuit. There will be Mustangs, Minis, Camaros, Falcon GTs, Cortinas, EH Holdens, XU1Toranas, Porsche, HQ Holdens and more.

At our first meeting for 2019 our new committee was appointed and we had a members friends Hot Rod on stage. Ray Patchetts 1932 Ford Roadster was absolutely immaculate and something different for members to look at.
